Hot water plumbing Box Hill North
Our licensed plumber Tim was recently on-site to attend a customer’s call from Box Hill North, whose water heater’s flow was inconsistent.
On closer inspection, Tim identified the tempering valve on the unit was in poor order. After a discussion with the customer, he isolated the water supply and removed the faulty valve.
Tim water tested the fixtures, and hot water was being supplied to all points properly.
Hot water plumbing Windsor
Another call from an anxious customer saw us visit this property at Windsor. A two-year-old Bosch gas instantaneous heater was working intermittently. The customer reported there was no hot water running to the house.
Our plumbing crew inspected the wall-hung heater and found a gas meter bend made from an old lead pipe. This meter bend had been kinked and damaged over time, and was restraining gas flow.
The lead connection to the gas meter was straightened out for better gas flow to the appliances. On testing the hot water unit gas supply, it was found back in working order.
Hot water unit not working
A hot water unit – as the name suggests – is supposed to consistently produce a supply of hot water. Is your hot water unit taking too long to heat up? Or is it not yielding a constant stream of hot water? Is the temperature of the hot water changing frequently? Are you getting only cold water despite switching your heater on? If you notice these issues persistently, there might be a critical underlying issue.
In most cases, the thermostat controlling the water temperature is the root cause and can be easily replaced/repaired. But if these warning signs lead to frequent visits from the plumber, it is time for a system overhaul. Doherty Plumbing Solutions can assist you with a hot water unit replacement.
New hot water system – it’s time for a change
Upgrading a hot water system can be a daunting task. There are several considerations that determine the perfect fit for your home or workplace.
A standard hot water unit operates for around 10 years on average, whereas a quality hot water unit can last for at least 15 years. This, however, depends on the type of hot water unit and its usage since its installation.
